LCC baseball and softball finish season strong

LCC’s baseball and softball teams ended their regular seasons on a high note. Both teams are conference champions and both are nationally ranked in the top 10.

The Lady Stars are heading into the summer with an overall record of 39-17 and a conference record of 29-3, the best in school history. They have amassed a number of Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) awards, including 2019 MCCAA Western Conference Softball Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors going to LCC’s Kimberlee Maddox. LCC softball coach Marc Kibby is the 2019 MCCAA Western Conference Softball Coach of the Year.

The baseball team leaves the diamond this season with a stellar showing under the leadership of new head coach, Jordan Keur. The team completed the regular season with a 35-6 record, the best percentage in school history. Their conference record was 27-1, also best in school history. Player Cameron Hart was named the 2019 MCCAA Eastern Conference Baseball Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year. The 2019 Coach of the Year is LCC’s Jordan Keur.
