LCC Theatre to hold auditions today through Monday

The Black Box play this fall is NONE OF THE ABOVE, a comedy directed by Mary Matzke. Auditions will be held at 7 p.m. Aug. 25 and 26 in 168 Gannon Building.

The main stage play is SERIOUS MONEY, a satire directed by Mary Job. Auditions will be held in Dart Auditorium from 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 28 and 7-10 p.m. on Aug. 29.

All LCC students are welcome to audition for LCC Theatre’s productions. You don’t need to be a Theatre major!

Drop-in career advising available this fall

Drop-in career advising sessions of about 20 minutes each are available during the Fall 2016 Semester. Drop-in career advising is great for quick help, such as:

  • Getting started on career assessments
  • Receiving brief resume or cover letter writing instruction
  • Having a mini-critique of your resume or cover letter and receiving specific pointers for improvement
  • Getting ready for an interview
  • Learning about job search or internship resources, strategies and listings
  • Learning how and where to apply for student employment
  • Getting started with LinkedIn

Dates and times for this service include:

  • Monday, Aug. 22, 10 a.m. – noon and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Wednesday, Aug. 31, 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Mason Aviation Day to be held Saturday, Aug. 20

Homebuilt, classic and military aircraft will all be on display at the Mason Aviation Day on Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Mason Jewett Airport.

The event is sponsored by Chapter 55 of the Experimental Aircraft Association, and the LCC Aviation Technology program will participate with an open house throughout the day.

The event includes a pancake breakfast from 7:30-11 a.m. and a grilled steak lunch from noon-2 p.m. Airplane and helicopter rides will be available, weather permitting.

Open Enrollment Days Aug. 17 and Aug. 24

Receive face-to-face assistance with class registration, advising, placement testing and other questions or issues during Open Enrollment Days on Aug. 17 and  Aug.  24.
