LCC North

On July 13, 2015, Lansing Community College (LCC) approved a name change of “LCC St. Johns Clinton County Center” to “LCC North.” The name change reflects the student base of the campus which draws from beyond Clinton County.

Luanne Bibbee, interim director of LCC North said, “The name change to LCC North reinforces LCC’s commitment to the northern regions and communicates that the College is investing in the community and the individuals it serves.”

The overall goal is to implement increased course offerings, including Continuing Education and workshops, to meet evolving community needs. Questions about the name change can be directed to Luanne at bibbeel@lcc.edu or (989) 224-2017.

Lost Painting

A local family is renewing its search for a long-lost oil painting that once hung at LCC.

In the impressionistic painting, a girl sprawls in a tutu, one foot pulled up on the seat, with her hands resting on her knees and her chin turned to one side and on her hands.

That girl is Jean Elton’s daughter, Lu Sann Sedelmaier, when she was a child, the way Elton’s ex-husband, Grand Ledge artist Norm Sedelmaier, painted her 50 years ago.
