Argos 5.0 Released on July 30

LCC will update Argos, its enterprise reporting tool, on July 30. Argos 5.0 has a different look and feel. The user interface/form has a brighter, blue color scheme. The basic features are similar to previous versions of Argos.  Training is available now in the Learning Management System (LMS) on MyLCC, Work tab, under Employee Tools. For problems accessing the Argos application, contact the LCC Help Desk at (517) 483-5221.

Today on Washington Mall at 12 Noon – Vigil in Honor of Orlando Tragedy

Join us on Monday, June 20, at 12 p. m. for a vigil in honor of the victims of the Orlando attack. Following the vigil, we will be holding several small group discussions at The Centre for Engaged Inclusion for all those who may need to talk with someone during this difficult time. Students, employees, and community members are welcome.

 We will gather around the LCC seal outside of the Gannon Building at noon.

Take our Daughters and Sons to Work Day!

Thursday, April 28th is “Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day”!  In order to provide for a meaningful and educational experience for those children who participate, the following guidelines are to be adhered to by faculty and staff:

  • Faculty and staff must have prior supervisory approval to bring a child on campus for this event.
  • Children age 5 and above can participate.
  • The learning environment of classrooms and labs must be free of distractions and thus no children are permitted in these areas.
  • Those Faculty and staff who participate must accompany the child at all times and are responsible for the child while at the College.
  • The 2016 theme for this event is “Sparking Aha Moments”.  Those faculty and staff who have approval to participate in this event should provide for meaningful activities that inspire children to use their imagination and explore new ideas.

Funeral for Cindy Storie’s Son – Johnathan Kerr

Thank you so much for the outpouring of prayer and support at this difficult time for me and my family.

My daughter, Victoria (Tori) Kerr, and I have returned home from Shenzhen and the family has been able to finalize plans for my son, Johnathan Kerr, his Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life.

Johnathan was an alumni of LCC, earning his Associates in Science in both Engineering and Computer Science.

My Daughter & Johnathan’s Sister, Victoria Kerr, is a Clerical Support Staff in the Student Affairs Division – The Learning Commons.

My Father & Johnathan’s Grandfather, Tedd Sperling, is a Professor in the Technical Careers Division – CIT Department.

403(b) Universal Availability Notification

403(b) Universal Availability Notification

This notice is to inform you that as an employee of Lansing Community College, you are eligible to participate in the College-sponsored 403(b) retirement plan.

Who is Eligible?

LCC’s 403(b) Plan allows for all full-time and part-time (non-student) employees to participate in the Plan. If you are currently not a contributing member and wish to become one, you must first open an account with one of the College’s approved Investment Service Providers. You may only select an Investment Service Provider that has been approved by LCC.

Who is an Approved Investment Service Provider?

Lincoln Financial, Waddell & Reed, and TIAA-CREF are all approved providers.  Information about each provider can be found at:

How do I Make My Salary Deferral Elections?

After opening an account with one of the Plan’s approved Investment Service Providers, you will need to complete a Salary Reduction Agreement. You may obtain this form on the HR Benefits website at  By completing the salary reduction agreement, you are confirming that you have established the necessary accounts with your selected Investment Service Provider(s) to participate in the Plan. Your salary reduction agreement also confirms the proper amount of deferral you intend to have withheld from each paycheck.

How Much Can I Contribute?

You may contribute up to $18,000 to your 403(b) account in 2016 through salary deferrals.  Additional amounts may be deferred based on your age, years of service, or other factors.  Please consult with your selected Investment Service Provider for more information regarding contribution limits.
