Selfie Sculpture Walk Scavenger Hunt Thursday

Join us for a fun “Selfie Sculpture Walk Scavenger Hunt” from noon to 1 p.m., Thursday, April 23. Meet in the courtyard outside the Star Zone. Participants can work in teams or on their own and will be given clues to find specific sculptures on campus. Once they find the sculpture, they will take a “selfie” with the sculpture. This event is open to everyone on campus. Bring a friend, coworker, or come alone and enjoy the event!

Lansing Community College is currently in the process of replacing the Star Card system with an access card system for greater campus security. The new identification card will not be used for buying goods and services. The College is changing its internal systems to accept personal credit or debit cards for this purpose.

As a result, effective May 15, 2015 LCC students and employees will no longer be able to add funds to their Star Cards. However, employees and students may continue purchasing goods and services until the stored amount on the card is used up. Phil’s and Gibson’s are the only locations with Star Card readers that allow students and employees to purchase items with remaining funds on Star Cards.

Students and employees will have until June 15, 2015 to cash out any remaining stored value on their Star Card at Phil’s.

May 15: Last day to add funds to a Star Card.

June 15: Last day to cash out the remaining balance on a Star Card at Phil’s student store located in the Gannon Building StarZone. After this date, employees and students will no longer be able to refund any remaining value on a Star Card.

Star Cards may also still be used as an ID card, library card, in the computer lab, and as a fitness center access card.

In reference to Print Credits: Students and employees will be able to purchase additional Print Credits on Market Place with a credit or debit card on and after May 15 at For additional information, please contact Cynthia Rooker at

The cutoff for requisitions in FY15 is Friday, May 8, 2015.  Requisitions must be submitted and approved by the end of the day in order to be purchased in FY16.  Please note:  budget does not roll from one fiscal year to the next (except for capital projects).  If goods or services are ordered, but not received (Banner Receiver not processed) by 6/30/15, the cost will come out of FY16 budget.  If services or goods are received in FY15 they need to be processed and paid prior to the closing of FY15.  Any requisitions received after May 8th for goods and services not yet received, will need to be entered in FY16 beginning on July 1, 2015.

The LCC Card may be used between May 9th and July 1st.  Please keep in mind that transactions incurred towards the end of June, may not be received and posted until July. In addition, all LCC Card expenses must be reconciled & approved by 6/19/2014 to be in FY15.  (Card transactions not reconciled and approved by 6/19/14 will be FY16 transactions and applied against your FY16 budget).  If you have any questions, please call Megan Garrett at x1719.
