The MI-ACE Women’s Network annual conference is designed by women in higher education for women in higher education, and for those who share their mission, to provide opportunities for professional development in an environment that values connection, inclusiveness, and developing leadership potential. Sessions are tailored with the goal of bringing women together with their peers to engage on topics impacting women in academe today, including issues around public policy and women’s equity. Through this active collaboration, the MI-ACE Women’s Network strives to improve the climate, and enhance professional recognition and career advancement for women working in all of Michigan’s public and private colleges and universities.

The Michigan ACE Network is committed to identifying, developing the leadership of, advancing, and supporting the retention of women in higher education throughout the state. The MI-ACE Women’s Network 2014 Annual Conference provides a place where Michigan women leaders may find opportunity for professional development, networking, mentoring, advocacy, and support. It will allow time for those who attend to learn new leadership strategies and network with other women in leadership positions across the state.
Dr. G. Arunima – Women’s History Month Speaker
As part of the Women’s History Month Committee, we are pleased to announce that Dr. G. Arunima will give a presentation on “Global Feminisms” on Wednesday, April 16 at 6pm on the 2nd floor of the library.The LCC community is invited to attend this presentation.
Our speaker Dr. G. Arunima is a historian and associate professor of Women’s studies Programme in the School of Social Sciences at Jawaharlal Nehru University. Currently, she is a Fellow at Internationales Kelleg Morphomata, University of Cologne, Germany. She did her doctoral work at the University of Cambridge. She will be visiting the United States and giving lectures at New York University, Ferris State University and University of Minnesota.
Light refreshments will follow the presentation.
