Flu shot clinic to be held Oct. 13 on Downtown Campus

All employees, family members and students are invited to get their annual flu shot in the HHS Building on Oct. 13. In addition to best practices like washing your hands and minimizing time around others who are ill, flu shots are one of the most effective preventative measures against the flu.

Shots are free with most insurance plans, as long as you bring your insurance card. Without insurance, shots are $5 for Employee Development Fund (EDF) members and $25 for anyone else. Payment can be made with exact cash or check. Credit card payments cannot be accepted.

To help the process run smoothly, please fill out the flu shot history and consent form prior to the event.

The clinic will be held 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m-5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the HHS Building, room 201. If you cannot attend that day, flu shots are available at many local pharmacies, or you can talk to your doctor. Learn more about the flu vaccine and read the FAQs from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The event is sponsored by EDF and the Choosing Health! committee at LCC.
