A round of Applause! for Athletics coaches

This week, we’re applauding James Robinson of Athletics.

“James Robinson is the cross country/track coach for LCC,” Nichole Waters wrote in the award. “Jim spends an incredible amount of time recruiting and promoting LCC’s athletic and academic advantages to student athletes. As a result, Jim is able to put together extremely competitive teams year after year. He is a great communicator and always advocates and highlights his student athletes’ accomplishments. Through his efforts, Jim has certainly enhanced the environment within the Athletics Department and at LCC. He is deserving of this recognition.”

Applause also goes to Marc Kibby of Athletics.

“I am please to recognize Marc Kibby for his outstanding service to the Athletics Department and his efforts serving as the women’s softball head coach,” Waters wrote. “Coaching at this level is more than showing up to coach weekly games and is not a seasonal job. The amount of time and preparation coaches spend to prepare for the season is incredible. Marc has shown commitment to LCC through his recruiting efforts and fielding a team that is highly competitive year after year. Further, Marc is an excellent advocate for students, while stressing the importance academic success with his team. He goes the extra mile to make sure the student athletes have a memorable and positive experience at LCC.”

Applause also goes to Jordan Keur of Athletics.

“Supporting the Athletic Department, I am in awe of what coaches do to provide a positive, memorable experience for student athletes at LCC,” Waters wrote. “Jordan has managed the baseball team though a challenging year with dignity and grace, while staying positive and upbeat. He has kept the team focused on playing solid baseball and managed to put together a string of wins that is impressive in any year, but more so when having to navigate COVID challenges. What is behind the winning season is Jordan’s work ethic and the amount of preparation that goes into each practice and game. The team has responded to his positive energy and has earned the No. 1 ranking in JUCO D II baseball and a conference championship. Jordan is an outstanding representative of LCC and role model for our student athletes. For these reasons, I am pleased to nominate Jordan for this recognition.”
