LCC is hosting the Michigan Department of Talent and Economic Development for a workshop about the state’s Marshall Plan for Talent. The event is part of a statewide tour, and will be held 1-3:30 p.m. Monday, July 16, at West Campus M121-122.
The Marshall Plan for Talent is designed to prepare students and adults for the jobs of today and tomorrow. The plan will provide $100 million to create or expand innovative programs for in-demand occupations, increase career exploration and awareness, and invest in students and teachers.
To access most of the $100 million in proposed Marshall Plan dollars, grant applications will need to come from a Marshall Plan Talent Consortium. These will be made up of K-12 schools, colleges, businesses and other key stakeholders that partner together to transform how they create talent.
These workshops are designed to help businesses and educators take the first step in creating a Talent Consortium.
All LCC employees are welcome to attend the workshop to find out how to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to revolutionize Michigan’s education and talent development systems. RSVP online.
