Faculty Professional Activity Days are scheduled for May 10-12.
Provost Dr. Richard Prystowsky will kick off the event at 9:30 a.m. May 10 with the “Academic & Student Affairs Update” and share “Everything’s Gonna Be All Right,” a music and slide show presentation in Dart Auditorium. Star Talks will follow, beginning at 10:45 a.m. This year’s Star Talks will include three individuals from the LCC community that have been chosen to give a 15-minute speech on a topic of interest. Based on the TED Talk model, presenters will share ideas that have the power to change attitudes, lives, and ultimately, the world.
LCC’s Engagement and Resource Fair will be 9:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, May 12 in the Gannon Building and will feature more than 50 LCC groups who will provide information about the services they provide for LCC students, faculty and staff.
The entire campus is invited and encouraged to attend Wednesday morning’s presentations in Dart Auditorium, as well as the Friday morning Engagement and Resource Fair in the Gannon building.
A full schedule can be found here. Descriptions of the May 10 afternoon concurrent sessions can be found here.
As in the past, full-time faculty are required to attend Professional Activity Day events. Adjunct faculty are not required but are encouraged to attend and will be compensated for their attendance. Sign-in sheets for both full-time and adjunct faculty will be available.
It’s that time of year again, when we adjust our hours of operation to better suit how students, faculty and staff utilize our facilities.
Effective Monday, May 15, the hours of operation for LCC general office areas will be changed to 7:30 a.m.- 4 p.m., with a 30-minute lunch period. This change will remain in effect until Monday, August 21, at which time we will resume our regular working hours of 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., with a one-hour lunch period.
As in the past, there will be exceptions to this schedule. Please check with your immediate supervisor if you have questions about summer hours in your area.
Thank you, and have a great summer!
Ann Kroneman – Executive Director, Human Resources
More than 50 areas from around the college will participate in an Engagement and Resource Fair 9:30-11:30 a.m. Friday, May 12 in the Gannon Building.
The fair stems from conversations the AAC&U Equity Team had with faculty and staff who said to effectively serve our students, we have to know about the resources LCC offers to students and employees. It will serve as an opportunity to learn about our services, committees, programs, areas, departments and projects in-person.
The Office of the Provost, the Center for Teaching Excellence, the LCC Foundation and the AAC&U Equity Team all assisted in the fair’s organization.
