Join LCC Women’s Network for Equal Pay Day event

Help us Paint the Commons Red in honor of Equal Pay Day on Tuesday, April 4 in the Gannon Commons.

In the U.S., working women make an average of 80 cents for every dollar men make. For women of color, that disparity is even higher. And in Michigan, it’s worse – women make an average of 74 cents for every dollar men make.

At LCC, women make an average of 96.7 cents for every dollar men make.

Equal Pay Day is a day dedicated to awareness, symbolizing how far into 2017 the average U.S. woman has to work to make as much as men did in 2016. This year, it falls on April 4.

In honor of the day, join us 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, April 4 for lunch and fellowship in the Gannon Commons. Bring or buy your lunch, and the LCC Women’s Network will provide cupcakes and awareness stickers.

Be sure to wear red for our group photo! The program starts at noon, and we’ll take our photo around 12:15 or 12:30 p.m.

Everyone is welcome, including students.
