Pillows for a Purpose stuff-a-thon to be held Nov. 12

Please join us this year at LCC’s “Pillows for a Purpose” community engagement event. The LCC community will be serving and supporting our local and state hospitals by providing children positioning pillows that help meet their diverse needs while in the hospital. We will holding our annual community service event on Saturday, Nov. 12 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Gannon Student Commons. No experience is required to participate. Instructions, snacks and a pizza lunch will be provided. It’s a wonderful activity for the whole family – LCC employees, students and community members are all welcome.

This year, we will also have a Kid’s Corner so whole families can enjoy the day together. Help us reach our goal of creating 1,000 pillows. Due to health concerns, if you or someone you might be bringing to the event are sick, please do not attend.

Pillows will be donated to the Olivia Kay Foundation. While we are helping to meet the needs of our local community, we also would like to support the LCC community. At the event, we will also be collecting non-perishable food items to support the LCC Food Pantry to help restock for our own LCC community resource.

“Pillows for a Purpose” community service project is a collaborative effort of LCC partners: Student Life, LCC Foundation, HHS Divisional Office, HHS Child Development and Early Education, Office of Advancement and External Affairs, Experience #Starpower Employee Appreciation and community partners: Catholic Community of St. Jude and the Olivia Kay Foundation.
