Outstanding Adult Learner Nomination Request

Lansing Community College is affiliated with the Capital Area Higher Education Network (CAHEN) which is a group of eleven colleges and universities who work collaboratively to promote life-long learning in the Lansing metropolitan area.

Each year CAHEN recognizes an Outstanding Adult Learner from each of the eleven colleges and universities.  Lansing Community College CAHEN representatives are asking LCC faculty members and advisors to nominate a student they believe stands out in their academic program.  CAHEN will select one student from each participating school to receive a certificate and prize award at a special ceremony to be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm.

This event will take place at Cooley Law School and will consist of networking time, a guest speaker and award presentations.  If the student you nominate is elected as a winner, you will be invited to attend the event and help us honor him or her on this special day.  All faculty members are invited and welcome to attend this event; however, we feel it is extremely important for the winner’s nominating faculty to be present.

Please consider nominating an outstanding adult learner that is in a current class or may have been in a previous class.  To nominate a student please email Cassie Little at littlc@lcc.edu with this information: student name, LCC programs/clubs/organizations involved in, any special awards/recognitions, any special circumstances or obstacles you believe the student has overcome. Please also include your written recommendation of why you feel this candidate should be considered for the award. The deadline for submission is Tuesday, February 24, 2015.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Cassie at 517-483-1253 or littlc@lcc.edu.  We look forward to receiving your nominations!
