The Lansing Community College Kinesiology Club invites colleagues to join in the Walk To End Alzheimer’s Event, which begins at noon, on Sunday, Sept. 14 at the State Capital
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is a family-friendly 5K walk and the cost is only $10 for each team.
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive disease of the brain that is characterized by impaired memory and eventually the deterioration of one’s reasoning, perception, and language skills. The “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” is the largest event sponsored by the Alzheimer’s Disease Association to raise awareness of this tragic disease.
The funds raised during this event fuel the association’s initiatives of providing care, support, and research to those who are affected by Alzheimer’s disease. In addition, this event brings much-needed attention, education, and awareness to the community about the resources, programs, and support groups that are available at local chapters.
This is the second year that the LCC Kinesiology Club has formed a team and has encouraged active participation in support of this event. Last year, the team raised $200 for this cause.
Additional donations are always appreciated. Contact Ivy Tagger to register for this event or if you have any questions. Call Ivy at (517) 488-3318, or email her at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
