Performing Arts on Campus this Weekend!

In Dart Auditorium, LCC’s Jazz Band directed by Jon Gewirtz performs a variety of classic and contemporary jazz tunes at Friday, May 2 at 7:30 pm. On Sunday, May 4 at 3 pm, enjoy romantic, Broadway and classical choral music performed by the LCC Concert Choir with special guests, the DeWitt Community Singers, both directed by Lydia Skrlec Erickson. In the Black Box Theatre (GB 168), the 2nd semester Theatre Studio Program students perform in The Adventures of Harlequin by William Glennon. This delightful tale is in the style of commedia dell’arte, meaning “comedy of art” or “comedy of the profession.” It was a style popularized in 14th-18th century Italy and contains stock characters and an improvised approach. Directed by Connie Curran-Oesterle, this play tells the tale of how Harlequin was added to the troupe in a production perfect for the entire family. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Friday May 2 and Saturday May 3 in 168 Gannon Building. All events are free.
