Beginning Today: Meet & Greet Sessions for Associate VP for Academic Affairs Candidates

Dear Campus Community,

As you are aware, the College is in the process of filling the position of Associate Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs.   The search committee has completed its work and has forwarded finalists for second-level interviews.

In order to give persons an opportunity to meet the finalists, we have scheduled the following meet and greet sessions (one per finalist), which will take place in the Center for Teaching Excellence office (TLC 324):

  • Thursday, November 7 – 3:00 to 4:00 pm
  • Friday, November 8 –  2:30 to 3:30 pm
  • Tuesday, November 12 – time to be announced
  • Thursday, November 14 – time to be announced
  • Friday, November 15 – time to be announced
  • Please watch for updates, and join me in welcoming the candidates to our campus and the Greater Lansing area.
  • In closing, I would like to thank Dean Margie Clark, who chaired the committee, and the committee members for their hard work and dedication.  We are very grateful to them for their efforts.

 Date: Saturday, November 16, 2013 from 8 am-7 pm

Cost: $5 per person (Tickets limited to 5 per person)

Who Can Attend?: EVERYONE! You do not need to be an EDF Member and you may bring family and friends!

Details: Join EDF for our bus trip to Frankenmuth, Birch Run, Zehnder’s Splash Village and Bronner’s. The bus will be rotating locations throughout the day to help get you everywhere you want to be for shopping, exploring, and great food.

Water Park: You may purchase a full day pass for $35 (9am-closing) or a half-day pass for $28 (9 am-2 pm). These should be purchased in advance to guarantee a spot at the water park. For information on how to reserve tickets please visit: Zehnder’s Splash Village Hotel and Water Park.

    Bus Information: The bus is scheduled to leave LCC at 8:00 am from the Gannon Circle drive located on N. Grand. It will leave Frankenmuth at 5:30 pm and arrive back at LCC at 7:00 pm.

* Children age 2 & under are not permitted on the bus, thank you for your understanding.*

 Attendees will receive coupon books to make the deal even better! Any meals and shopping are on your own, just make sure to catch the bus home!

2013 Veterans Memorial Induction Ceremony – November 11, 2013

LCC to Honor 3 Local Military Heroes for Veteran’s Day

WHAT:           Veterans Memorial Induction Ceremony

WHEN:           Noon, Monday, November 11, 2013

WHERE:          Health & Human Services Building, Fred Abood Rotunda (Lower Level)

Details:             Lansing Community College will induct three local veterans in the interactive Veterans Memorial that was unveiled on Veterans Day 2010. Open to the public.

Inductees:

  • Billy Arnold of Lansing, Ship Serviceman Third Class with the U.S. Navy during World War II
  • Harry Bell of Charlotte, Staff Sergeant with the U.S. Army Air Forces, World War II
  • Joseph R. Beyrle of Muskegon, Sergeant of the U. S. Army during World War II

ANNUAL BENEFITS OPEN ENROLLMENT

The annual Benefits Open Enrollment begins on November 12, 2013 and ends on November 26, 2013 for the Plan Year Beginning January 1, 2014.

During this two week period you can:

  •  Enroll in coverage if you have not already enrolled;
  •  Cancel coverage;
  • Make changes to your benefits and enroll/re-enroll in Flex Spending Account plans;
  • Remove or add dependents from coverage;
  • Update Life Insurance Beneficiaries;
  • Enroll in Voluntary Benefit plan offerings;
  • Visit Benefit Vendors for MESSA, Health Equity, ADN, DavisVision, Heritage Vision, Renaissance Dental, AFLAC, MetLife, at the following on-campus date/time:

**November 12th 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Admin Board Room

**November 14th 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Admin Board Room
